A TARDY occurs when a student is late to school or class, with no documented excuse or parent note. Although parents may excuse a late arrival to school, if this is habitual, the excuse may not be acceptable. Tardies are noted as 'L' in Skyward. Consequences become stricter as more tardy arrivals are noted.

1st and 2nd tardy---verbal warning from teacher, enter ‘L’ in Skyward
*If students have been to the office (just checking in to school),
Skyward will have an L-PN (parent-note/excused), or an L-NN (unexcused)
3rd tardy—teacher contacts parents, enter ‘L’ and a Discipline Referral in Skyward,
letter to parents is generated from office
4th tardy—Detention, call home from the attendance officer
5th tardy—Detentions, attendance officer sets up parent/student meeting or phone conference
6th tardy—In-School Suspension and/or warning letter from the Medford Police Department
7th tardy—Truancy citation from MPD and/or subsequent School Suspensions
